The all-new Cooper Model 5200 is a modern expression of the classic American hunting rifle—designed with inspiration drawn from some of the most respected bolt-action rifles ever built, and refined into a singular Cooper design. It reflects the best ideas of tradition, executed with modern materials, precision manufacturing, and uncompromising attention to detail.

At the heart of the Model 5200 is an all-new bespoke Cooper action, engineered from the ground up to deliver strength, reliability, and long-term durability. Machined from 4140 chromoly steel, the flat-bottom receiver features an integrated recoil lug, increased receiver body diameter, and enlarged barrel threads for enhanced rigidity. A one-piece, jeweled, three-lug bolt with a 60-degree throw provides smooth, controlled operation, while the controlled-round-feed action ensures positive cartridge handling from magazine to chamber. A rotating S7 tool steel extractor, mechanical ejector, lowered ejection port, and Mauser-style bolt stop complete a design focused on reliability in real-world hunting conditions. A large, easy-to-manipulate three-position safety offers traditional functionality and intuitive operation.

The Model 5200 is stocked in hand-checkered, hand-oiled Turkish walnut, modeled after Cooper’s proven Western and Custom Classic stock profiles. Available in AAA+ and Exhibition grades, the stock blends timeless aesthetics with subtle modern reinforcements, including a carbon fiber–reinforced pistol grip, steel-reinforced inlaid sling studs, and a steel crossbolt–reinforced CNC-machined aluminum bedding block. An ebony forend tip and two-screw Jerry Fisher grip cap complete the rifle’s refined appearance, underscoring its traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Barrel options include a free-floating carbon steel match barrel in a No. 3 contour, offered in 26 inches for magnum calibers and 24 inches for standard calibers. Barrels are threaded ½×28 and fitted with a blended radial muzzle brake, with a thread protector included. For those who prefer a modern aesthetic and advanced barrel construction, a Proof Research carbon fiber barrel option is available, threaded 5/8×24, offering enhanced rigidity and thermal stability while preserving the rifle’s balance and character.

Feeding is handled by a top-loadable, flush-fit, lockable double-stack detachable magazine, providing four-plus-one capacity in magnum calibers and five-plus-one in standard calibers. An additional magazine is included. Each Model 5200 ships with three Talley scope-mounting solutions to accommodate a wide range of optics and mounting preferences.
